Performed inside of the timeless Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico, Travis and 40 singers from the First Baptist Church trekked down through the caves until they reached a point called the “Rock of Ages” where they lifted us all up through song for a 2008 special.

“Very deep in the desert below Carlsbad is an amazing natural wonder,” Travis said in his introductory speech.

Travis had to stop talking at different points because his voice would reverberate throughout the cave!

“Silent Night,” an enduring Christmas carol, resonates with serene simplicity and timeless beauty.

Composed in 1818 by Franz Xaver Gruber with lyrics by Joseph Mohr, it originated in Austria and encapsulates the tranquil essence of Christ’s birth. Its gentle melody and heartfelt lyrics evoke a sense of peace, making it a cherished emblem of the holiday season, universally adored for its ability to instill warmth and contemplation.
