The spirit of American patriotism was alive and truly present when country legend Reba McEntire took the center stage at our nation’s Capitol – and performed some of the best songs that celebrate being an American.
During the 2010 celebration of Independence Day at the annual A Capitol Fourth event, McEntire wowed thousands of attendees and viewers across America with a grand presentation of her patriotism and sang through the gorgeous display of fireworks!
“The real honor is getting the chance to be here with you in front of the nation’s capitol on the Fourth of July and getting to sing the music I love so much,” Reba addressed the crowd. “And now, in honor of this great holiday – I’d like to sing two of my favorite songs about America.”
Fireworks began to softly crackle across the sky with subdued explosions that sprinkled beautiful colors in every direction. Reba opened the celebration with a sweet, Southern-styled rendition of “America the Beautiful” before effortlessly transitioning into “God Bless America” for the grand firework finale.
How many of you remember watching this or, even better, attending the Independence Day celebration in Washington D.C.?
