The most wonderful time of the year means so many things for different families. Some may enjoy Christmas caroling, others may bake lots of cookies. For some families, it means being away from loved ones because they are serving our country.

For us, it means lots and lots of Christmas lights. We’ve been scouring the Internet for the best Christmas light displays and we’ve discovered so many awesome light shows that are synced to some of our favorite songs.

One of our favorite displays so far has been a military tribute to the tune of Lee Greenwood‘s iconic song “God Bless The USA.”

Throughout the song, which has been sped up and remixed with an armed forces medley, the red, white, and blue, lights are cleverly matched up to the beats and lyrics. At one point, the lyrics are even spelled out in lights!

Each branch of the military is represented either by song or with lights. This light show will make you proud to be an American and want to thank all the military members who are serving our great nation.

This light display was put together by the Van Gent family for their 2014 Christmas lights display. They used “5000 RGB Pixels and 300 Renard computer controlled channels animating 45,000 lights.” The family has been featured on ABC’s TV show The Great Christmas Light Fight.
